Mr. Polini: I follow 28 companies with a concentration in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
TWST: How about you, Chris?
Mr. Nolan: I currently cover 10 companies, primarily in the Northeast and the few out West, mostly mid-cap regional banks.
TWST: How have the banks you cover faired compared to the big banks dominating the headlines?
Mr. Polini: I actually cover a few national banks as well. Banks have done well since early March. But the "smid caps" have underperformed the large-cap banks. The large-cap banks are up about 3-1. That said, in the period prior to March 6, the "smid-cap" banks had been doing relatively well. I think the "smid caps" are starting to gain some positive momentum now and that the sweet spot is actually the distressed value plays in the "smid-cap" arena.
