Josh Stirling has been the Senior Research Analyst covering U.S. nonlife insurance at Sanford C. Bernstein & Co., LLC since 2010. Mr. Stirling joined Bernstein & Co., LLC after a career in insurance, with responsibilities spanning underwriting, finance, strategy and M&A across a wide swath of the industry, while working at industry leader Progressive, and later, turnarounds OneBeacon Insurance Group and Hanover Insurance Group. Mr. Stirling completed his undergraduate studies at Cornell and earned his MBA at Stanford, where he was named an Arjay Miller Scholar. Mr. Stirling has been recognized as a top analyst by Institutional Investor and the Financial Times, and in 2013 was ranked the number-two analyst in the U.S. non-life insurance sector by Institutional Investor's All-America Research Team poll.
