Large-Cap Value Investing Uncovers Opportunities in Financials and Industrials

McLaughlin, Shawn P.
Shawn P. McLaughlin is President and Chief Executive Officer of McLaughlin Ryder Investments, Inc. He brings more than 29 years of investment experience, specializing in helping individuals, businesses and associations achieve their investment goals through financial planning. He earned his B.S. in business administration from Georgetown University and remains active as a mentor to students in Georgetown's business school. He regularly speaks to local honor students through the Alexandria Summer Economics Institute. Mr. McLaughlin has been active in the Northern Virginia business and civic communities for more than 28 years. He served on the Inova Health System board of trustees and is the past Chairman of the Inova foundation. Gov. Mark Warner appointed Mr. McLaughlin to the Virginia Baseball Stadium Authority in 2004. In March 2008, he was elected to the board of directors of Burke & Herbert Bank. Mr. McLaughlin was elected Chairman of the board of trustees of the Virginia College Savings Plan in 2010. Also in 2010, Mr. McLaughlin accepted an appointment to the board of visitors of the School of Business at Marymount University in Arlington, Va. In 2003, he helped establish the Alexandria Police Foundation and continues to serve as the foundation's first Chairman. Mr. McLaughlin has served on the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce board of directors for more than 12 years. His fellow business leaders elected him Chairman of the board of the chamber in 1994. McGinn, Bernard F.
Bernard F. McGinn, CFA, is the Chief Investment Officer of McGinn Investment Management, Inc., and is responsible for all investment decisions relating to the large-cap value strategy. He began his 30-year career with Merrill Lynch, and later Kidder Peabody. Mr. McGinn founded McGinn Investment Management in 1991. He received his B.A. in political science from the University of Maryland and his MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the adjunct faculty at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University and Visiting Professor of finance at the Robert H.
