Deep-value Investing In Small-cap Stocks – Stephen A. Clark & Weston J. Wellington – Dimensional Fund Advisors

Stephen A. Clark, Head of Portfolio Management and Vice President at Dimensional Fund Advisors, oversees Dimensional's portfolio management across domestic equity, international equity and fixed income. He is deeply involved in the design and marketing of new products and strategies, and he works closely with the trading group to monitor execution costs. Mr. Clark is also Chairman of the investment committee, which supervises the firm's day-to-day investments. He frequently speaks at final presentations to prospective clients, client reviews, consultant meetings, and industry conferences on topics concerning U.S. and international equities trading and portfolio construction. Mr. Clark joined Dimensional in 2001 as a General Portfolio Manager in U.S. equities and became Head of International Equities trading in 2004. His financial career began at John Nuveen & Company in 1997, where he was instrumental in structuring mergers and acquisitions for the company's health care services division. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.S. from Bradley University.Weston J. Wellington, a Vice President with Dimensional, is another of the firm's in-house research experts. He works closely with financial advisors in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Australia and Latin America, showing them how a science-based equilibrium strategy is the most reliable way to achieve investment success and why their clients are unlikely to hear about this approach from the usual sources of financial advice.
