Cindy Hockenberry, EA, is a Tax Information Analyst with the National
Association of Tax Professionals (NATP). Her duties include interpreting complex
tax laws and disseminating the information to association members through
various NATP publications. She is also the primary association spokesperson for
media inquiries. Ms. Hockenberry joined NATP in 1989 as a tax researcher and
later became the association's information coordinator. She has been quoted in
hundreds of newspapers, magazines and Web sites in tax-related articles. Ms.
Hockenberry also writes for various NATP publications. Ms. Hockenberry has a
Bachelor of Arts degree in liberal studies from the University of Wisconsin-
