George Perlegos – Atmel Corporation (atml)

GEORGE PERLEGOS is the Founder, President, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Atmel Corporation. He received his BS degree in Electrical Engineering in 1972 from San Jose State University and his MSEE degree from Stanford University in 1974, and continued at Stanford University until 1978 for higher degrees. He worked eight years for Intel Corporation where he developed the first n- channel EPROM, the industry's first 5-volt EEPROM, and the first commercial EEPROM that overcame density limitations. After Intel Mr. Perlegos was Vice President of Engineering for SEEQ Technologies, and was also one of its Founders in 1981. In late 1992, Mr. Perlegos' accomplishment of building a successful company in a competitive industry earned him Northern California's 'Entrepreneur of the Year' award in honor of his success and talent within the semiconductor industry.
