Donald Walker – Magna International Inc (mga)

DONALD WALKER joined Magna International Inc. in October 1987 as Assistant to the Chairman, Frank Stronach. Mr. Walker's responsibilities at Magna included work on various engineering and joint venture projects, as well as being the General Manager of a Magna division. In late 1988, Mr. Walker became the Director of Corporate Marketing and Strategic Planning for Magna. In November 1989, he was appointed Vice- President of Product Development and Engineering as well as President of Magna Vehicle Group, Vehma International. Mr. Walker was promoted to Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer in July of 1991, during which time he had overall responsibility for Magna's internal restructuring program. In November of 1992, Mr. Walker became President and Chief Operating Officer and subsequently President and Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board on November 1, 1994. Mr. Walker is a graduate of the University of Waterloo Mechanical Engineering Co-op Program. Prior to joining Magna, he worked at General Motors of Canada for eight years in various engineering and manufacturing positions, including Senior Engineer for a major plant expansion and Superintendent at an automotive assembly complex.
